I found that, contrary to what Mr. Levi had told to nt-, <br /> that the references did come in after the contract was awarded mid it"was <br /> during that time too, our own people had turned in negative ah reports on the <br /> quality and timeliness of the work. Another contention that was made was that <br /> the property owner was satisfied. Now, Mrs. Smith hap =*Ce became deceased <br /> but her daughter did give us a statement as to recollection of the quality of <br /> work; and that was that'the work was not done satisfactorily- The signing <br /> of the 4cceptance was not an indication that they were pleased with the quality <br /> of the•work or the tirreliness.of the work and that a letter that we have too; <br /> I don't believe it's in the packet, signed by Mrs. Wanda Gattis. <br /> commissioner Walker: Saying that? <br /> Manager: ' Saying that her mother, ah and herself were dissatisfied with nine items <br /> connected with the work that was done by the Smith Company. So based... <br /> Commissioner Walker (Interrupting): Now, that's w letter that.we should have had <br /> before we voted. <br /> Manager: Yes, yes, ah this these things caused me to feel that the Director had <br /> made a wise deten+lnaticn. There are about sixteen contractors in the program <br /> and it is his responsibility to make some background checking as well as <br /> monitor the quality of work that goes on.
