Ms Phipps provided members of the board with a report luWW thefindings <br />A motion was made by Jean Austin and seconded by hbses Cary that the Animal Services Advisory Board <br />does notfeel it is appropriate to move forward with a recommendation that the Animal Ordinance be <br />changed but that there be "er contact with Ur regarding potential devil relief.' TOTE: <br />Unanimous - <br />Pd OrerpopaUtion CoamWee -Pat Sanford reported dW they gathered a lot of information at the last <br />meeting and Beth Livingston ofdnimal Kind reported that at the present time they are spaying and <br />neutering about 100 animals a year in Orange County without day fords from Orange County Animal <br />Services and that at an average cost per surgery of $7S-$100 they could do 100 more surgeries Animal <br />Kind would do all the administration and airrendy Animal Kind has contrails with local veterinarians. <br />Ms Sanford also reported that the feral cat caretakers are coming back to discuss how to handle feral chat <br />Monies and to try and reduce the number of feral cats coming into the shelter. <br />Bob Marotb reported that there is now 316, 000.00 in the County's Community Spay Neuterf ind and That <br />the amount is espeded to grow to - $25,000 or more before the end of thefacalyear. Some of the funds <br />were used for the Splay Day USA program where we sterilized 20 animals belonging to clients of the <br />Department ofSocial Services T7ne actual list was 31 animals but due to the exact compliment of <br />males /fanales and eats/dogs, we were only able to process 20 that particular day. We plan ongoing back <br />to the veterinarian with a supplemental contract to capture the other eleven animals The plan is to use' <br />remaining money in this accownt in the last quarter for a variety ofproruns, which will help with the <br />prevention ofwamnted pets that end up in the shelter.
