Paribus motions were considered until one received <br />majority support and these are recorded below. <br />• A motion was made by Daniel Textorb mud seconded by Susan Elmore to amt the Tethering <br />Amendment as it There was no second and more discussion wins held on the document Mohan <br />did not carrA <br />• A motion was made agaur by Daniel Tworts and seconded by Susan Elmore to accept the <br />Tethering Amendment and to exclude the class I and class 2 licensed kenmels fir the meantimg <br />with the understandI ng they would be addressed m the future. There was more discussion about <br />concerns by members about addressing the issue later, Motion did not carry as due vale was 2-in <br />favor and 6 against <br />• A motion made by Jean Austin to present the TetheringAmendment as we have it and exempt the <br />minimal kwnel saes for Class 1 and Class 2 licensed l eimels. There was no second and it was <br />requested to have more discussion. Motion did not carry. <br />• A motion was made again by Jean Austin and seconded by Pat Sanford to accept the Tethering <br />Amendment to Orange County Animal Control Ordinance and exempt Class 1 and Closs 2 <br />kennels existing as ofJamrwy 1, 2008, from only the minimal arclosure sae requirement It was <br />understood that thepermit requirements mud ordinance would be revisited at a later date. TA* <br />motion carried by a vote of S in favor 3 opposed <br />• Motion was made by Pat Sw*rd and seconded by Jean Austin to accept the overall amendment <br />with the correction ofseveral typographical errors and several wording changes fa d fferent <br />sections of the Amendment Ift moden carried by a vote of b in favor 2 opposed <br />Once the County Attor nqr have made revisions to the proposed Tethering Amendment staff will request <br />that the County Manager place u before the BOCCfor its deliberations <br />FAQ WorhirgDocamod- -Board members were pleased with the work that had been done andgave <br />very positive feedback There were a couple of typographical changes requested and the board would <br />like to mention public health riskand the amount of tax dollars spent to address this issue Once changes <br />are made an abstract and amendment to move forward will by completed by the March meeting: <br />New Business -- <br />Chair Ross Oglesbee mentioned that a member ofthepublic has made a request to speak with the board <br />at the March meeting to address the adoption of pit bull and pit bull mares from the shelter.
