VOTE., Unanimous <br />Motion was made by Bonnie Norwood and seconded by Susan Elmore to approve the Mnmmes dated <br />August 15, 2007. VOTE: Unanimous <br />Gureral Public Comment - None <br />Unfinished Bushma <br />Final Report ASAB Seeping of Wild Animal Ordinance Amendment Task Force Ross Oglesbee <br />presented the "Final Report ", datedAugust 29, 200. She reported that the Task Force had metfar a total <br />offour times and determined dwt it would only consider changes in relation to North Carolina native . <br />species and rehabilitation. However, after the meetings the Task Force concluded that there should be no <br />change in the current ordinance. The committee does want to go on record for saying that they believe <br />that Orange Country should pr ovide support for wildlife rescue, rehabilitation and education only to those <br />organizatFons that have the space, on -site cWerilm budget and other resources to humanely and <br />appropriately rehabdttaf0, and educate the public about, native North Carolina wildlife; This could be <br />done in a form of a multi - county wd&zfe cooperative. Motion was made by James Kramer and seconded <br />by Bonnie Norwood to pass the Final Report dated August 29, 2007, to the BOCC. VOTE: Unanimous <br />Report and Proposal for Orange County's Ted raft Comm met OrdinanceAmuendmen"ob Marotto <br />and Irene Paul provided the ASAB members with a Required Kennel Space Recommendation Memo dated <br />September 100*, 2007, that proposed a tier system jibe such requirements based upon their review of such <br />restrictions in otherfurisdktions Staffprepared this memo in response to a request at the last ASAB <br />meeting that more it formation be made available about minimum kennel sizes in relation to any proposal <br />to limit tethering. Motion was made by Pat Sanford and seconded by Susan Elmore to accept the <br />Tethering Committee Ordinance Amendment Recommendation with the attached Memo and forward it to <br />the County Mmuagerfor recommendation to the BOCC. VOTE: Unanimous <br />Pet Ompopula&n Sabcomuuitee— Caroline Green reported that the committee met in August to <br />discuss its purpose and develop its charge.
