There was no second and more discussion was held on the document Motion <br />did not c mTF. <br />• A motion was made again by Daniel Tedarzs and seconded by Susan Elmore to accept the <br />Tethering Ama dment and to exclude the class I and class 21icensed kennels for the meantime, <br />with the un dl rstandmg they would be addressed in the fuhare'There was more discussion about <br />concerns by members about addressing the issue later. Motion did not carry arthe vote was 2. in <br />favor and 6 against <br />• A motion made by Jean Austin to present the Tethering Amendment as wee have it and exempt the <br />minimal kennel saes for Class I and Glass 2 licensed ken nets. There was no second and it wins <br />requested to have more discussion. Motion did not carry. <br />• A motion was made again by Jet: Austin and seconded by Pat Sanford to accept the Tethering <br />Amendment to Orange County Animal Control Ordimmce and exempt Class 1 and Class 2 <br />kcm& adnUg as ofjwnuvy 1, 2008, from only the minimal enclosure size requirement It was <br />understood that the permit requirements and ordinance would be revisited at a later date This <br />motion carried by a vote of 5 in favor 3 opposed <br />• Motion wnu made by Pat Sanford and seconded by Jean Austin to accept the overall amendment <br />with the correction of several typographical errors and several wording changes in dfflkwd <br />sections of the Amendment: This notion carried by a vote of 6 in farar 2 opposed <br />Once the County Attorneys have made revisions to the proposed Tethering Amendment staff`' will request <br />that the County Managerplace it before the BOCCfor its deliberation. <br />FAQ Wor kr W Document -- Board members were pleased with the work that had been done and gave <br />very positive feedback There were a couple of typogrqphicitl changes requested and the board would <br />like to mention public health risk and the amount of tar dollars spent to address this issue Once changes <br />are made an abstract and amendment to movie forward will by completed by the March meeting: <br />Chair Ross Oglesbee mentioned that a member of the public has made a request to speak with the board <br />at the March meeting to address the adoption of pit bull and pit bull mb= from the shelter.
