A RESOLUTION ADOPTING THE 2030 COMPREHENSIVE PLAN ~~~ ~~'.°2~~? <br />• ~ Q <br />WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners desires to update its Comprehensive <br />Plan for the future development and preservation of Orange County; <br />WHEREAS, the Board authorized a timetable and process for the development of the <br />2030 Comprehensive Plan; <br />WHEREAS, the Commissioners established a team of County advisory boards, staff, <br />and consultants to prepare the Plan, held public hearings and information meetings to <br />hear citizen comments, and conducted work sessions on a draft Comprehensive Plan; <br />WHEREAS, the Planning Board at its October 1, 2008 meeting unanimously <br />recommended adoption of the draft Comprehensive Plan to include its proposed <br />revisions that have been conveyed to the Board of County Commissioners; <br />WHEREAS, the Board reviewed the draft Comprehensive Plan, public comments <br />received during the public hearing process, and the Planning Board's proposed <br />revisions; <br />NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Orange County Board of County <br />Commissioners that the Board hereby adopts the 2030 Comprehensive Plan as <br />contained in the May 6, 2008 draft, with revisions as reflected in Attachments 1 and 2, <br />"Table of BOCC Accepted Planning Board Revisions" and "Table of BOCC Additional <br />• Revisions", respectively, and with additional revisions made by the Board of County <br />Commissioners at the November 18, 2008 meeting (Attachment 3); and <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the County staff will work to ensure that the <br />revisions, as adopted by the Board of County Commissioners, are accurately reflected <br />in the Comprehensive Plan document prior to printing copies, and that any errors found <br />in the future will be brought forward. promptly to the Commissioners and corrected. <br />Upo motion of Commissioner ~~~i,_~, seconded by Commissioner <br />the foregoing 'resolution was adopted this the _~_ day of ~~~/~tll~a~-L~ <br />2008 <br />I, Donna Baker, Clerk to the Board of Commissioners for the County of Orange, North <br />Carolina, DO HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing is a true copy of so much of the <br />proceedings of said Board at a meeting held on November 18, 2008, as relates in any <br />way to the adoption of the foregoing and that said proceedings are recorded in the <br />minutes of said Board. <br />WITNESS my hand and the seal of said County, this ~_ day of /~/`~~~-rte ~ <br />2008. =; <br />~t~rt.~ c t'C o,~~rP <br />. ~I,i:~'7~xy _ <br />,,, ,~ .~~;;; Clerk to the Board of Commissioners <br />• <br />~ bC <br />
