a~ <br />.Orange County Personnel Ordinance Issue Date: August 1, 1997 <br />A permanent employee wishing to appeal the demotion, suspension or dismissal may <br />present the matter in accordance with the provision of the grievance procedure that is <br />prescribed in Article VIII of the Ordinance. <br />7.0 Exit Interview <br />Purpose -Exit interviews aze made to give management insights as to those reasons for <br />employee turnover. The objective is to improve (through employee observations and <br />suggestions) working conditions and to provide incentives that will evoke employee <br />loyalty and contentment. <br />7.1 Policy <br />Each terminating permanent employee participates in an Exit Interview conducted <br />by the Personnel Department. <br />7.2 Final Pay Check <br />7.2.1 A terminating employee will receive a final pay check at the end of the last <br />pay period worked. <br />7.2.2 Included in an employee's final pay check will be accrued vacation leave, <br />paid in lump sum, along with actual hours worked. <br />7.2.3 An employee at termination will only receive pay for actual hours worked, <br />and vacation leave. Holiday hours, Sick Leave hours, overtime or <br />compensatory leave hours, or petty leave hours will not be paid to an <br />employee at termination. <br />7.2.4 Once an employee has given resignation, accumulated holiday, sick, <br />overtime or compensatory, and petty leave hours, will not be counted <br />toward actual hours worked in supplementing or determining last day of <br />employment. <br />7.2.5 Final pay checks will not be released until all County property has been <br />turned over to the department head or supervisor. <br />Article IX -Page 6 <br />
