Activities <br />Employment Strategies and Recommendations <br />Outcome: Develop opportunities for Work First participants to improve their <br />employability through subsidized and unsubsidized employment, on-the job training, <br />work experience, job searches, job readiness and community services. <br />a. Build relationships with employers <br />b. Educate employers on tax incentives and on-the job training <br />c. Develop a relationship with local employers to offer mock interview sessions with <br />Work First participants <br />d. Explore and apply for offender grants <br />e. Build partnerships with local law schools and attorneys to assist with <br />expungements <br />f. Utilize former Work First participants as mentors and provide opportunities for <br />them to share their employment success stories <br />g. Implement on-the job training program <br />h. Establish an incentive program for participants to encourage job placement <br />i. Match skills and interest of participants with available job openings or <br />entrepreneurship <br />j. Develop more training opportunities for skill building to participants through <br />work experience . <br />k. Develop more work experience sites <br />1. Create a mechanism for screening and assessing clients knowledge, skills and <br />abilities <br />m. Provide retention services for twelve months <br />
