MEMORANDUM <br />To: Board of Orange County Commissioners <br />John Link, County Manager <br />From: Gayle Wilson, Solid Waste Management Director <br />Subject: Information about three recycling contracts and two pieces of landfill equipment scheduled <br />for bid award <br />Date: August 24, 2000 <br />This memorandum presents information to the BOCC regarding three recycling contracts and two <br />equipment bids in order for the BOCC to ask questions, make comments and resolve any outstanding <br />issues prior to the September 5, 2000 regular meeting. All five of these items are currently scheduled to <br />appear on the BOCC consent agenda for the September 5 business meeting. <br />Recycling Contracts for Renewal: The three recycling contracts have been in place for varying lengths of <br />time. We propose to renew all three with the current service- providers. All three service providers have <br />been reliable, responsive to complaints, and have worked closely with staff to resolve problems and <br />improve program performance.
