(For a copy of this statement see page of this book) . .The <br /> Board made minor changes/suggestions and Commissioner Baines moved to :- <br /> adopt, the HSAC Statement as (range Co mty's Position on Block Grants; <br /> Camrissioner Gustaveson seconded the motion. Vote: Ayes, 5; noes, 0. <br /> B. Work Program for this Fiscal. Year <br /> Mr. Bill Baxter reviewed his memorandum to the Board (see page of this <br /> book) . Ca[missicner Willhoit moved to appropriate $5,000 total to the HSAC <br /> for the needs assessment; Notion died for lack of a second. Board discussion <br /> ensued because the HSAC was also requesting staff time; Board felt that the <br /> Manager's office needed to assess -hat request in terms of the work load already <br /> on staff. The Board did indicate its support of the work completed by the HSAC <br /> toward the charge given it by the Board. The Board received the report and work <br /> program from the HSAC and asked the Manager to assess the request for staff <br /> support in addition to the $5,000 (total) request. <br /> Agenda Item S: t ens n o s Train Board <br /> M. Peggy McCarthy, Chair of the Orange County Commission for Wanen, <br /> presented that Cmmi.ssion's request for endorsement of its program to <br /> the Board. Comnissicner Gustaveson moved, seconded by c=m_issioner %-iitted, <br /> to endorse the Women's Training Board and the program "W[manpower Through <br /> Boards and Commissions." Vote: Ayes, 5; noes, 0. <br /> Agenda Item 9: Canmanity Park Devel t in Northern <br /> F <br /> Recreation Director, Mr. Weston, the Chair of the Parks and Recreations <br /> Advisory Commission, Mr. Hyatt, Ms. Mary Howes and Mr. Albert Kittrell, <br /> Cc enmity Development Director were present for this discussion and pre- <br /> sentatien to the Board. The Board noted that the comfy needed to make <br /> contact with the Town of Hillsborough to impress upon the 'Pawn the need <br /> for a can[amity park and the need to acquire the land for such a park or <br /> face loss of funds. <br /> Commissioner Gustaveson moved, seconded by Commissioner Walker,to <br /> enter into a contractual agreaTmt with the firm of Recreation and Park <br /> Consultants, Inc. of Raleigh, in the amount of $7,200.00 for the planning <br />
