FINANCIAL IMPACT: There is no direct financial impact associated with discussion of the <br />Task Force's activities to date. After receiving a formal report from the Task Force, the Board <br />will make decisions that will likely have a significant impact on future school funding. Those <br />decisions will particularly affect current expense appropriations, which for FY 1999 -2000 exceed <br />$34 million in the County's General Fund. <br />RECOMMENDATION(S): Review the Task Force's work thus far, discuss the major elements <br />of the draft report, and provide appropriate direction to the Manager and staff. <br />
