Link, Jr. <br />Orange County Manager <br />Post Offs a Box $181 <br />Wilaborcwgh, North ConAna 27278 <br />RR TANF Housing Grants <br />Dear Mr. Unk <br />Attachment 1 <br />We are pleased to advise you that your recent proposal for TANF lands designated for <br />housing initiatives for the %orking poor as a result of Govemor Hunt's Next Steps <br />Inttiative has been approved subject to revisions to be identified at a later date. All <br />eight proposals submitted from across they state were approved. However, due to the <br />number of proposals, the request$ exceeded the allocation and some proposals were <br />approved at reduced furxrnj levels. Your proposal was approved for a grant totaling <br />$312,305; the grant period Is anticipated to begin in the near future and run through <br />.tune 2009 depending on availability of funds. <br />Administration of funds associated with this initiative will require staNHwel contracting <br />with each agency or organization approved for funding. A meeting has been scheduled <br />for Chmernber 114, 1999, in Raleigh to review the requirements and procedures <br />associated with the state -level contracdng process and disbursement of the funds. The <br />meeting will be held at the Albert Coates Building on the corner of Lane and <br />Dawson Streets her* in Raleigh from 10:00 a.m, until 3:00 p.m. In addition to <br />Division of Social Services e.tef'i, staff from the DeparmwM of Commerce. Division of <br />Conmwnity Assistance, will be present to provide infomnation about the proposals for <br />use of Small Cities Community Development Slwk Grant funds associated with this <br />initiative. <br />3 <br />
