Paductim in Force Proposal; tie Social Services Director, Mr. <br /> Tan Ward reviewed the memo (see page4/T-4VI of this book) submitted to the <br /> Board or u=nissioners and responded to questioning from the Board. Mr. <br /> Ward said the reduction in hours is voluntary and the feeling was it was <br /> better to cut hours than to have to retrain/reassign persons to other tasks. <br /> He noted that studies indicated that part-time persons were mare efficient . <br /> when hours were selectively reduced. <br /> Commissioner Gustaveson moved, seconded by Camtiissioner Barnes, to <br /> approve Option I as outlined in the Board of Social Services mew (re- <br /> ferenced above)"with the understanding that flexibility exists within that <br /> proposal to adapt to unforeseen circumstances."
