oR D - ao io - 037 ~-~}ach,men~- ~- <br />Local Food Initiatives <br />Grant Project Ordinance <br />Be it ordained by the Orange County Board of County Commissioners that pursuant to Section 13.2 of <br />Chapter 159 of the General Statutes of North Carolina, the following grant project is hereby adopted. <br />Section 1. The program authorized is the Local Food Initiatives Grant Project as awarded to the <br />Orange County Cooperative Extension and Economic Development departments by the <br />Appalachian Sustainable Agriculture Project and the Tobacco Trust Fund Commission. <br />This grant will provide training, guidance, education, and implementation funds to plan <br />and execute a new food system project that compliments the continued effort to build a <br />strong farm-to-fork food system in the Piedmont. <br />Section 2. The officers of the County are hereby directed to proceed with the grant project within <br />the grant document and the budget contained herein. <br />Section 3. The following revenue is anticipated to be available to complete this project: <br />Locat Food Initiatives Grant funds (FY 09-10) <br />Total <br />$40, 000 <br />$40,000 <br />Section 4. There is a required twenty-five (25%) in-kind County match for this grant over a two year <br />period. This match will be fulfilled from time devoted to the project by staff currently <br />employed in Orange County Cooperative Extension and Economic Development <br />Section 5. The following amount is appropriated for this project: <br />Local Food Initiatives Project (FY 09-10) <br />$40,000 <br />Section 6. The finance officer is hereby directed to maintain within the grant project specific detailed <br />accounting records to provide the accounting to the grantor agency required by the grant <br />agreement and federal and state regulations. <br />Section 7. Copies of this grant project ordinance shall be made available to the finance officer for <br />direction in carrying out this project. <br />Section 8. This ordinance supersedes all previous "Local Food Initiatives° Grant Project <br />Ordinances. <br />Section 9. This project ordinance is in effect until June 30, 2011. <br />9 <br />Adopted this 20th day of April 2010 <br />
