15 <br /> Hollow Rock Access Area Master Plan September 2009 <br /> A second public meeting was held on December 3, 2008, also at the New Hope <br /> Improvement Center. The purpose of this meeting was to present the initial scheme <br /> for the draft master plan and to solicit citizen feedback and additional ideas. There <br /> were over 65 people in attendance (non-committee and staff members). <br /> There were many questions about who would administer and operate the park. Others <br /> asked how this site would be coordinated with the Duke Forest trails to the north and <br /> other planned trails along New Hope Creek to the south. People offered their thoughts <br /> about the potential closing of Pickett Road and how that might enhance the park. <br /> Others were not in favor of closing the road to through traffic. <br /> for other facilities that had not been considered b <br /> Finally, were ideas offered Y the <br /> Y� <br /> committee, including a pedestrian bridge over Pickett Road, camp sites, a <br /> canoe/kayak access area, a bike lane along Erwin Road, and signage about the <br /> geology of the area.
