If an appointee, in any calendar year has absences which constitute <br /> 27 more than 25 percent of the regularly scheduled Board meetings or three consecutive <br /> 28 meetings, whichever comes first, which he or she is required to attend, he or she is <br /> 29 obligated to resign. The Board of Commissioners may consider extenuating <br /> 3o circumstances. If the individual refuses to resign, he or she may be removed by action of <br /> 31 the Board of County Commissioners, by a majority vote, subject to state or local law.A <br /> 32 leave of absence may be granted for extraordinary circumstances, such as illness or <br /> 33 personal circumstances,upon request to the Board of Commissioners. <br /> 34 <br /> 35 D. Board Procedure <br /> 36 ' <br /> 37 T'he Boazd shall develop procedures for the conduct of its meetings, in addition to those � <br /> 38 listed here, which shall be consistent with this ordinance, other provisions of State law, <br /> 39 and Robert's Rules of Order. <br /> 40 <br /> 41 1. Chair and Vice-Chair <br /> 42 <br /> 43 The Board shall elect a Chair and Vice-Chair each year at its February meeting.The <br /> 44 Chair sha11 preside over all regulaz or special meetings of the Board. In the absence <br /> as or disability of the Chair, the Vice-chair shall preside and shall exercise all the <br /> 46 powers of the Chair. Additional officers may be elected as needed.
