Be certified by the Natural Resources Conservation Service of the United States <br /> 2 Department of Agriculture as being a farm on which at least two-thirds of the land is <br /> 3 composed of soils that: <br /> 4 <br /> 5 a. Are best suited for providing food, seed, fiber, forage, timber, forestay <br /> 6 products,horticultural crops and oil seed crops; <br /> 7 <br /> 8 b. Have good soil qualities; <br /> 9 <br /> 10 c. Are favorable for all major crops common to the county where the land is <br /> 11 located; <br /> 12 <br /> 13 � Have a favorable growing season;and �----�r•orn,atted:Indent:Left: i^ ; <br /> 14 . Receive the available moisture needed to produce high yields for an average <br /> 16 of eight out of ten years; <br /> 17 OR <br /> 18 <br /> 19 Have been actively used in agricultural, horticultural or forestry operations as <br /> 2o defined by N.C.G.S. §105-277.2 (1,2,3) during each of the five previous years, <br /> 21 measured from the date on which the determination must be made as to whether the <br /> 22 land in quesrion qualifies; <br /> 23 <br /> 24 4. Be managed, if highly erodible land exists on the farm, in accordance with the <br /> 25 Natiu�al Resources Conservation Service defined erosion-control practices that are <br /> 26 addressed to said highly-erodible land(have a current conservation farm plan and/or <br /> 27 forestry management plan associated with the current usages and owner);and <br /> 28 <br /> 29 5.
