<br />JC)i~ 18 , 1981 <br />~~~ <br />The Qranc~ County Board of C.camtii_ssioners met in special session <br />Thursday, June 18, 1981, 7:30.P.M, in the Comni.ssioners~ Roan, Orange <br />County ~uxthouse, Hillsborough, Nox-th Carolina. <br />Commissioners present: -~ni.ssioner Anne Sarnpg, Chaix, and Can- <br />a <br />missioners DTo~nan Gustaveson, Norman Walker, 1~i-chard 4~itted and bpi <br />Wil7hoit (who arrived at 8:00 P.M.). <br />C~issi-ones presided over the meeting and announced that Ccg[missioner <br />Willhoit was at a Health Board m~:etinq and wand join ,~ pup shorty. <br />The p~7 r~Ce of the iroeting was a work sessica~ on t~ p~;op~d budget. <br />The Board continued the cliscussions; Car¢nissianer Gustavesan suggested <br />an e:camination of programs in the Catrrnission far ~ to ascertain it pro- <br />gr~ns were being duplicated by other human service agencies. ~ssioner <br />G~staveson alsp' suggested eX3lilini„ng the Youth Servi[~S budget .and discussing <br />the Eu~1 servio~s Transportation plan and RSVP. <br />During the course of the discussion this evening the Board added or <br />deleted, as indicated-the following items er amounts: <br />Addron: $1,500 to HSAC; $10,000 Registex of Demos personnel; $5.000 <br />HSAt~ consultant; $5, 000 Tndustxial Revenue Authority (for EeorlomiG I~velop- <br />ment Consultant); $10,000 Green Bo,,,~s~ <br />Delete: $12,000 Jail provision; $5,000 from Public Works, R,,;l~gs <br />and Grounds Cat~inets far Human sexvices Center; $23,480 Hnexgy Depar~t~ <br />$5,000 SuR,mer Day Camp; $19,800 Human Services Program Analyst (position left <br />~); $57,743 ?resits; $4,000 Museum; $3,590 JOC~p; $80,000 IIKS (with off- <br />setting fees of $80,000) <br />r <br />After this portion of tree meeting the ~,~ ~~ called for discussion <br />of the above additions/deletions. The Board asked Ms. in~-iitehead for her <br />report on the possibility of a secretarial. pool for the County, Ms. Tn~ite- <br />head responded to the Board, saying in part, that a pool did not replaces the <br />need for secretarial support within departrnnts but did Provide for over- <br />flow work and special projects; she did say that those groups vihx~ had a <br />seca-etarial pool had gcme with the word pro~ssi.ng arranget. <br />
