11 <br />D. MEETING SCHEDULE FOR CALENDAR YEAR 1996 <br />This item was postponed to the next meeting. <br />X. REPORTS <br />A. ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT STRATEGIC PLAN UPDATE <br />On April 18, 1995, the Board of Commissioners appointed a citizen <br />committee to update the 1989 Economic Development Strategic Plan. Economic <br />Development Director Ted Abernathy introduced Chair Howard Lee who gave <br />this report. The Board identified several items they would like to see <br />included in the report. This was received as information. <br />B. HAZMAT ORDINANCE <br />This report was received and will be placed on the next agenda <br />for decision. <br />C. ORDINANCE REGULATING THE USE AND OPERATION OF FACILITIES <br />OWNED OR OPERATED BY ORANGE COUNTY <br />This report was received and will be placed on the next agenda <br />for decision. <br />D. 1995-96 COMMISSIONERS' GOALS <br />In answer to a comment from Commissioner Gordon, John Link said <br />that the goal for efficiency improvements will be added to the goals that <br />will be distributed for the goal setting retreat in December. Paul Thames <br />explained the goal for the Efland Sewer. <br />XI. APPOINTMENTS <br />1. Stoney Creek Small Area Plan Work Group <br />A motion was made by Commissioner Halkiotis, seconded by <br />Chair Carey to appoint James Bumphus to the Stoney Creek Work Group to an <br />"At Large" status. <br />VOTE: UNANIMOUS <br />2. Citizen Innovation and Efficiency Committee <br />The Board members each voted for up to eleven members from the <br />list of applicants provided, except that Rochell Broome's name was removed <br />by Commissioner Willhoit since she does not live in Orange County and Jack <br />Vogt's name was not included since he will be working with the group. The <br />Clerk will tabulate the results and they will be announced at a later date. <br />XIV. ADJOURNMENT <br />With no further business to come before the Board, Chair Carey <br />adjourned the meeting.
