1 <br />APPROVED 10/2/95 <br />MINUTES <br />ORANGE COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 5, 1995 <br />The Orange County Board of Commissioners met in regular session <br />on Tuesday, September 5, 1995 at 7:30 p.m. at the Caldwell Community <br />Center in Rougemont, North Carolina. <br />COUNTY COMMISSIONERS PRESENT: Chair Moses Carey, Jr., and <br />Commissioners William L. Crowther, Alice M. Gordon, Stephen H. <br />Halkiotis and Don Willhoit. <br />COUNTY ATTORNEY PRESENT: Geoffrey Gledhill <br />COUNTY STAFF PRESENT: County Manager John M. Link, Jr., <br />Assistant County Manager Rod Visser and Clerk to the Board Beverly A. <br />Blythe tother staff members are identified appropriately below) <br />NOTE: All documents referred to in these minutes are in the permanent <br />agenda file in the Clerk's office. All amendments to County ordinances <br />are placed in the Ordinance Book in the County Commissioners' library. <br />I. ADDITIONS OR CHANGES TO THE AGENDA <br />The Board added to the agenda a proclamation in Support of the <br />Second La Fiesta del Pueblo in Chapel Hill. They removed from the <br />agenda item IX-D "1995-96 Commissioners' Goals" and placed it on the <br />next agenda. They added as item IX-F a discussion on three wood <br />processing plants. Chair Carey mentioned a letter he received from Jim <br />Hunt asking for the County's support and participation in developing a <br />bid for the 1999 world special Olympics.
