5 <br />distribution facility that will employ approximately 100 people and invest <br />at least $5,000,000 in buildings, land, and equipment; and <br />WHEREAS, on June 2, 1995, the NC Dept. of Transportation Board approved a <br />request for a maximum of $80,587.50 of Rail Industrial Access Funds to pay <br />for up to 50~ of Builders' Supply and Lumber's projected expense for <br />serving their Mebane site with a rail spur; and <br />WHEREAS, Builders' Supply and Lumber will pay the remaining portion (50~) <br />of this rail access project costs to serve their site; and <br />WHEREAS, Orange County will not be responsible for any costs associated <br />with providing rail to this proposed site for Builders' Supply and Lumber. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Orange County Board of <br />Commissioners support this project in principle, and authorize Builders' <br />Supply and Lumber Company, Incorporated to enter into a contract with the <br />NC Department of Transportation and execute all agreements and contracts <br />with the North Carolina Department of Transportation, Rail Division. <br />VOTE: UNANIMOUS <br />VI.
