4 <br />She stressed that they are not against responsible hunting. Her concerns are <br />safety. She feels that people hunt too close to residences. She asked that <br />the laws be updated with stiffer penalties. She asked that all hunters who <br />hunt on someone else's property have written permission even if the property <br />is not posted and that certain areas be designated off limits. <br />Chair Carey told Ms. Enoch that the County Commissioners are also <br />concerned about the safety of Orange County citizens. He suggested that <br />property owners be informed that they need to post their property if they want <br />to stop people from hunting on their property. <br />John Link suggested reactivating the ad hoc committee that studied and <br />made recommendations for the Hunting Ordinance. He will let Ms. Enoch know <br />when this task force will meet so she can personally present her concerns. <br />Jerome Harris presented a copy of a petition he presented to the County <br />Commissioners three years ago in which he asked that the Commissioners <br />prohibit hunting in Eno Township south of St. Mary's Road. He said that he <br />has posted his property and the signs have been torn down. He feels that <br />hunters should have permission before they can enter property that they don't <br />own. He is very concerned. <br />PUBLIC CHARGE <br />Chair Carey dispensed with the reading of the public charge. <br />III. BOARD COMMENTS <br />Commissioner Gordon thanked her family for their support during the <br />last four years and for the future four years. <br />John Link said that he looks forward to working with the County <br />Commissioners and stands ready to serve the Board as they deem appropriate. <br />IV.
