X35 <br />,~:~~ ~ • <br />~ 11, 1981 <br />6. <br />;: <br />-. <br />The Orange County Boaxt3 of commissioners met in special sessi.cn <br />Thursday June 11, 1981, at 7:30 P.M. ].11 the C[a~snissicmers' l~n, prenge <br />CO1m~' ~o~, A~-~-7.sbarough, North Carolina. <br />C~nmissi.onexs present: Commissioner Anne Barxies, Chair, and Corn- <br />s <br />missioners Norman 4LStaveson, Norman Walker and Din Willhoit. <br />Catmissioners absent: Commissioner Richa~ inIl~itted. <br />Commissioner Barnes presided over the meting the purpose of which <br />was a Board work session on.budget areas as indicated in the Minutes 3aelow. <br />Mr. Fred Crabtree, Mr. F,ar7, McKee and Mr. John Forrest, representing <br />the ~, Li~tt7-e River and orange Fire Districts, respectively, pres~.~ <br />the Board with theix requested ;,~ rate and budget proposals. The Board <br />discussed the budgets of those Fire Districts which had submitted them and <br />also those Fire Districts which had no representatives at this ~t-;ng: <br />__ The Board thanked the Fire Volunteers for their tires and efforts. <br />Mr. Bobby Baker and Mr. Bob D'Amore presented the Board with the <br />~°-~Y.Metlical Services budget request. Mr. Baker noted that a large <br />amount of the increase was due to personnel being funded for the entire <br />year rather than ~ year. <br />~e F'inanc~ Director told the Board there was no revenue sheaf far <br />this budget. Bath Dr. Sarah Dent and Bill Iessig sp~lse an favor of full <br />fui-,ding for this budget. Ur. Dent said the medioal supplies were so de- <br />pleted that I~7S could not handle a true emergency. <br />NL . BOb'~r By1;ar A-~se*~ted the E~•rgency M,nagement budget tD the <br />Board. He told the Board that with apark-tie person already an the pay- <br />ra11, a xesource manual would be ready in six months. <br />• Mr. Baker presented the c~rmunicatiaa~s budget to the Board and <br />reva-owed it with the Board, <br />The Sheriff of orange County. Mx•, B~ might, presented his budget <br />to the Board and responded t~ questions. The Board asked that Sheriff <br />Ithight please advertise vacancies in his department through the County <br />• Personnel Office. The Sheriff told the Boaxrl of the mandated services <br />he was required to p~Yovide with his personnel. <br />
