Chair, ~ Qoat~ <br />missioners Noanan C~astaveson, Richard i~-itted and Don Wi1]hoit. <br />Commissioners abseixt: C~mnissica~er Norman Walker. <br />~'ie purpose of the meeting was to discuss the selection process for <br />a new County Manager with Dr. Hayman of the Institute of C,ovexnz~nt. <br />In response to a question fry the Board, Dr. Hayman said State Law <br />mandated that the Board appoint an Acting County Manager; he said further that <br />this Acting County N.anager could be a member of the Board ar sane other <br />uualifi.ed individual. <br />Dr. Hayman said he would be willing to aid the County in screenning <br />applications if he knew the criteria he should use.. ~e Board then Warred <br />several .qualities sought in a Manager: Strength in administrative pro- <br />. grams, interest and dedication to stiff clrvelop!~nt, strong leadership, <br />preparation anc presentation 4t administrative reports, ability and under- <br />~ standing to work with an elected $oaxd, budget experiences, planning ex- <br />~. <br />perience, admnistrative skills, sc~ieone who is c~cise and thorough. <br />9 Dr. Hayman said he'd be glad to review the applications with those <br />;xiteria in mind and then yo aver the applications with the Hoard, indicating <br />w?za*_ t~s in his mind when he made a reca~~c~ation.
