TRIANGLE J COUNCIL OF GOVERNMENTS REPORT <br />Kimberly Brewer, Interim Director of Triangle J, gave a brief <br />report on the projects benefiting Orange County. This list is in the agenda. <br />B. NEST STEP PLAN - ORANGE COUNTY PARTNERSHIP FOR YOUNG CHILDREN <br />John Walker from the Orange County Partnership for Young Children <br />presented this report. He outlined what had been accomplished with the funds <br />received from the Smart Start grant. He presented "The Next Step Plan" which <br />was developed by the partnership and identifies the types of activities <br />intended to be funded under the Smart Start Initiative for fiscal year 1994- <br />95. <br />A motion was made by Commissioner Halkiotis, seconded by <br />Commissioner Willhoit to endorse the Next Step Plan for fiscal year 1994-95. <br />VOTE: UNANIMOUS <br />8I. APPOINTMENTS <br />OWASA BOARD <br />A motion was made by <br />Commissioner Insko to appoint Judy Cox <br />three year term ending June 30, 1997. <br />VOTE: UNANIMOUS <br />Commissioner Willhoit, seconded by <br />to the OWASA Board of Directors for a <br />ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT COMMISSION <br />Commissioner Willhoit nominated Lilyn Hester <br />Commissioner Gordon nominated Sarah Rubin and Bob Hall <br />Chair Carey nominated Edward Siebert <br />VOTE: Edward Siebert - 2 <br />Lilyn Hester - 4 <br />Sarah Rubin - 4 <br />Bob Hall - 0 <br />Lilyn Hester and Sarah Rubin were appointed as At-Large <br />representatives for terms ending June 30, 1997. <br />I-40/OLD 86 WORK GROUP <br />Commissioner Gordon questioned the process of boards and <br />commissions making recommendations for members of their specific board or <br />commission to serve on other committees. It was decided that the County <br />Manager and the Clerk will developed a policy for Board consideration at their <br />August 8, 1994 meeting. <br />A motion was made by Commissioner Willhoit, seconded by <br />Commissioner Halkiotis to appoint the following people to the I-40/Old 86 Work <br />Group: <br />Bill Waddell and Larry Reid representing the Orange County Planning <br />Board <br />Evelyn Lloyd and Allen Lloyd representing the Hillsborough Town <br />
