She favors retention of the agricultural/ re- <br />sidential zoning for Bingham Township. <br />Unidentified Citizen: (Chapel Hill): Said this area in Bingham <br />Township had poor soil'and 90% of the space available for growth. He <br />is in favor of industry in this Township. <br />Unidentifed Citizen: Favored retaining the agricultural/rural/re- <br />sidential character o~ Bingham Township. He said there are a number of <br />active farms in 'the area .in addition to being in the Cane Creek Watershed, <br />B.B. Olive: Suggested the Board establish an industrial growth task <br />force. He said the Land Use P1 an made no mention of mining operations of <br />minerals. He felt the Board should look into locations fvr potential land- <br />fill sites. He suggested some attention be given to ground water extraction. <br />Sim Ef7and: Said the Board had a problem of trying to retain as much• <br />agricultural land as possible while at the same time looking for industrial <br />Si%E.i. <br />Josephine Barbour: Addressed several issues, among which were suggestions <br />to search out industry to provide relief to tax payers, reduce the tax bur- <br />den on agricultural land, water storage potential and a storm water manage- <br />ment policy for Orange County. <br />There being no further comments, Ms. Crawford thanked the audience for <br />its participation and reminded it that the public hearing would be con- <br />tinued on July 7, 1981. <br />Commissioner Barnes told the audience it was welcome to the public <br />hearing on the Zoning Ordinance, Land Use Plan and Zoning Atlas scheduled <br />
