4 RESOLIITION AIITHORIZING THE SIIBMISSION OF A CONSOLIDATED COMPREHENSIVE HOIISING AFFORDABILITY STRATEGY BE IT RESOLVED, by the Orange County Board of Commissioners, that the Commissioners authorize the County Manager to submit the Consolidated Comprehensive Housing Affordability Strategy to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, including all understandings, assurances, and certifications required therein. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Manager is hereby designated as the authorized representative of the County to act in connection with the submission of the Comprehensive Housing Affordability Strategy and to provide such additional information as may be required by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. G. CONTRACT APPROVAL - GEOTECHNICAL SERVICES AT SOIITHERN HIIMAN BERVICEB SITE The Board approved and authorized the Chair to sign a contract with GeoTechnologies, Inc. for a sum not to exceed $7,170 for geotechnical work to be done at the Southern Human Services site. H. PROFESSIONAL BERVICE CONTRACTB - IINC SCHOOL OF DENTISTRY The Board approved and authorized the Chair to sign the renewal of the contract with the UNC-School of Dentistry, Department of Dental Ecology, for the services of a dental resident to provide dental services in the Health Department. I. PROFESSIONAL SERVICE CONTRACT - DENTAL SERVICES FOR HEADSTART The Board approved and authorized the Chair to sign the renewal of the contract for the Health Department Dental Clinic to provide dental services to the children attending the Cedar Grove Headstart Center operated by Wake County Opportunities, Inc. J. HAZMAT GRANT The Board accepted a $500 grant from the State of North Carolina Division of Emergency Management which will be used to assist local governments with monitoring and regulating hazardous materials transportation through their jurisdictions. R. COMMIINITY HEALTH ADVOCACY PROGRAM (CHAP) - YEAR TWO GRANT The Board approved and authorized the Chair to sign the contract between the University of North Carolina - Chapel Hill and the Orange County Health Department to fund year two of the Community Health Advocacy Program. The aim of this program is to improve the health of African-American members in the Efland-Cheeks communities; and to strengthen the capacity of community- based groups to assess and address their own unique health related problems. L. NORTH ORANGE SIIBDIVISION - PRELIMINARY PLAN The Board approved the Preliminary Plan for North Orange Subdivision subject to the conditions contained in the Resolution of Approval attached to these minutes on pages The property is located in Cedar Grove Township on the north side of Claiborne~s Road at the Alamance County and Caswell County line. Twenty-
