Vote: ayes, 5; noes, <br />0. The Clerk was instructed to notify Mr. David Roberts, Town Clerk of <br />Chapel Hill of the appointment. <br />Commissioner Barnes also announced two vacancies on the Chapel Hill <br />Planning Board; one due to the expiration of the term of Mr. Dan Francisa, <br />who does not wish to be reappointed, and one due to the resignation of Ms. <br />w <br />Betty Jones. The Board directed the Clerk to advertise these vacancies. <br />Agenda Item 20: The Department_of Ain Director <br />A. Recommendation from Senior Citizens Board that the Senior Citizens <br />Office be~~moved to Northside Multipurpose Center: Mr. Passmore said this <br />was a trial move to see if it would be suitable over the long term. Mr. <br />Passmore told the Board this was part of an effort to co-locate services <br />for thz older citizens. Commissioner Gustaveson moved, seconded by Com- <br />missioner Whitted to approve the move of the Senior Citizens pffice to <br />the Northside Multipurpose Center from Carr Mill. Commissioner Gustaveson's <br />motion did not include an appropriation for renovation of the offices in <br />Northside. Vote: Ayes, 5; noes, 0. <br />Commissioner Willhoit moved to approve attachment 3 (the Budget <br />Amendments) approved by the Senior Citizens Board. Motion died for lack <br />of a second. <br />D. P9ileage reimbursement from those using Homemake Health Aide Ser- <br />vice: Commissioner Barnes expressed concern that the Department on Aging <br />was unahle to provide services for persons who needed such service and yet <br />wished to renovate offices. Commissioner LJhitted asked Mr. Passmore to pre- <br />pare information for the budget presentation which would info nn the Board <br />of the impact on those citizens who don't have funds for services due to a lack of <br />money.' Commissioner Barnes, looking at the overall picture of the Capital <br />Improvements Program, said she wished to consider the Northside Multipurpose <br />Center on June 2, 1931, during Budget sessions. Commissioner Willhoit moved <br />to continue this discussion of these agenda items until Tuesday;night (June <br />2, 19$1) when the Board would have a clearer picture on the budget amendments. <br />Commissioner Gustaveson seconded the motion. <br />Commissioner rJalker left the m4eting during this discussion. <br />
