Mayse Estate Major Subdivision Commissioner Walker moved, seconded by Commissioner Gustaveson, approval of the C.M. Mayse Estate Major Subdivision as recommended by the Planning Board •and staff. Yote: Ayes, 5; noes, 0. Agenda Item 11-C: Public Hearing on Land Us_e Plan Dis- cussion. The Planning Director told the Board that the Land Use Plan had nat been placed in the libraries until May 30; staff had wanted the public to have more time to examine it. The public hearing had been legally advertised but the planning staff wished Board direction on whether or not to go ahead with. the public hearing as scheduled and hold another one later. The County Attorney gave his opinion that the information had been available to the public in the Planning Department and the public hearing was legal. Commissioner Willhoit moved to hold the public hearing on the Proposed Land Use. Plan as scheduled far June 4, 1981, and to add the Land Use Plan to the public hearing fior the Zoning Ordinance scheduled for July 7, 1981, and to have it legally advertised; Com- missioner Whitted seconded the motion. The Board asked that tie Zoning Ordinance be placed on public file as soon as passible; Commissioner Walker objected to the public hearing on June 4, saying public notification had been insufficient. Vote on Commissioner Willhoit's motion: Ayes, 5; noes, 0. Agenda Item 12: Screenin Procedures for a Mana er The Personnel Director presented the Board with screening procedures fir a new County ~"onager. The Board asked that the Personnel Director screen out those applicants who do not meet the criteria for Manager; it directed her to acknowledge receipt of all applications. Commissioner 4Jillhoit expressed a desire to see all applications which survived initial screening. The Personnnel Director said she had developed the screening procedures with pr. Hayman's aid (of the Institute of Government) and he had expressed a willingness to aid the County in its screening process. The Board expressed a desire to meet with those doing the screening and asked the Personnel Director if she would set up a rneeting -vith Dr_ Hayman on June 10 in Chanel Hill at 4 P.hi. or 6 P.t4., respectively.
