He explained that the positions were formerly in the Tax <br />Office budget but worked at the Health Department. <br />Commissioner Walker, seconded 6y Commissioner Gustaveson, moved to <br />submit the Health Department budget to the State for its review, based on -. <br />the Manager's recommendation. The. Manager said this budget was very near <br />or identical to his recommendation. Vote: Ayes, 5; noes, 0. <br />Agenda Item 7: Additional Fundin from Maternal and <br />C 1 d Healt 170. <br />Commissioner Willhoit moved approval of the Health Director's re- <br />quest to apply for additional funding in the amount of $5,170 from <br />Maternal and Child Health; Commissioner Whitted seconded the motion. <br />Vote: Ayes, 5; noes, 0. <br />Tye Health Director asked the Board to approve transfer of $2,1E6 <br />from salaries to medical supplies in order to prevent reversion of these <br />funds to the State; and to approve acceptance of $3,000 for Family Planning <br />Medical Supplies. Commissioner Gustaveson moved authorization and accept- <br />ance of the Health Directors request, in that order; Commissioner Willhoit <br />seconded the motion. Vote: Ayes, 5; noes, 0. <br />Agenda Item 8: Clerk position in Hillsbor_o_ugh_H_ealth <br />office Unfrozen. <br />The Health Director said this was a position that had been unfrozen, <br />filled and now.the employee was leaving. His understanding was that it <br />refroze upon termination of the current employee. Commissioner Gustaveson <br />moved to grant the Health Director's request that this clerk position for <br />the Hillsborough office be filied; Commissioner Willhoit seconded the <br />motion. Vote: Ayes, .5; noes, 0. <br />Agenda Item $-A: Discussion of S.B. 490. <br />The Health Director told the Board of Commissioners that the Board _.. <br />of Health was on record as opposing this bill. The Board of Commissioners <br />told Mr. Robinson they had not read this bill ;however, tire Board of Dir- <br />ectors of the North Carolina Association of County Commissioners was sup- <br />porting the bill.
