PUBLIC WORRS ARCHITECT - ACCEPTANCE OF RECOMMENDATION AND APPROVAL <br />OF CONTRACT <br />A motion was made by Commissioner Willhoit, seconded by <br />Commissioner Insko to accept the recommendation of the selection committee and <br />approve a contract, contingent upon attorney and staff review, with Michael <br />Hining Architects, Chapel Hill NC for services requested via the Request for <br />Proposal for the -Orange County Public Works. Maintenance Facility at a cost of <br />$88,500 and authorize the Chair to sign on behalf of the Board. <br />VOTE: UNANIMOUS <br />C. LEASE APPROVAL FOR 110 SOUTH CHURTON STREET IN HILLSBOROUGH <br />A motion was made by Commissioner -Insko, seconded by Commissioner <br />Willhoit to approve a lease, contingent upon attorney and staff review, with <br />Carolina Capital Resources (CCR) for 4416 square-feet at 110 S. Churton Street, <br />Hillsborough, NC for a term of five years at a lease .amount of $13/sq.ft. with <br />the lease escalation to be based on annual CPI; and authorize the Director of <br />Purchasing and Central Services to serve notice of_intent to vacate upon the <br />Landlord of the _ space presently occupied by the Durham Tech Adult Basic <br />Education program and authorize the Chair to sign on behalf of the Board. <br />VOTE: UNANIMOUS - <br />D. FOLLOWUP TO CIVIL RIGHTS ORDINANCE PUBLIC HEARING <br />A motion was made by Commissioner Willhoit, seconded by Commissioner <br />Halkiotis to approve the following schedule of events to follow up the recent <br />public hearing on the County's proposed civil rights ordinance: <br />Monday. October 11, the Human Relations Commission will discuss <br />public comment received at the September 14 public hearing and <br />consider any changes to the proposed civil rights ordinance. <br />Tuesday., October 19, the Board of Commissioners will receive the <br />Human Relations Commission comments as a report at their <br />regularly scheduled meeting. <br />Monday. November 1, the Board of Commissioners will discuss any <br />changes they may wish to make in the proposed ordinance. The <br />Board will then set a date to adopt the ordinance. <br />VOTE: UNANIMOUS <br />Commissioner Gordon suggested and it was the consensus of the Board <br />to delete the section on other prohibited acts. <br />E. ADVERTISEMENT FOR OCTOBER 14. 1993 JPA PUBLIC_HEARING <br />A motion was made by Commissioner Gordon, seconded by Commissioner <br />Willhoit to approve the legal notice and items for discussion at the Joint <br />Planning public hearing scheduled for October 14, 1993 as presented in the <br />agenda abstract. <br />VOTE: UNANIMOUS <br />IX.
