9
WHEREAS, the Town and County have embarked upon a Cooperative Planning
Agreement; and
WHEREAS, a new thoroughfare plan boundary based generally upon Cooperative
Planning Area boundaries has been defined; and
WHEREAS, this boundary has been endorsed by the Hillsborough Planning Board
and adopted by the Hillsborough Town Board of Commissioners; and
WHEREAS, the Orange County Planning Board has reviewed and endorsed the
revised boundary;
NOW, THEREFORE, the Orange County Board of Commissioners hereby adopts the
revised Hillsborough Thoroughfare Plan boundary and requests that the North
Carolina Department of Transportation recognize it in future transportation
planning projects for the Town.
VOTE: UNANIMOUS
D. PARTICIPATION IN THE TOWN OF CHAPEL HILL CABLE T.V. REFRANCHISING
PROCESS
The County's Cable TV Citizen Advisory Committee recommended that
the Town of Chapel Hill and the County work together in their cable TV
refranchising process since both jurisdictions are served by the same cable
system, American Television and Communications (ATC). Decisions and franchise
requirements developed by the Town may impact ATC customers in the
unincorporated jurisdiction of the County since all signals are disseminated
from Chapel Hill. Working with the Town would encourage greater dialogue and
help to identify the common interests among the two jurisdictions.
Motion was made by Commissioner Halkiotis, seconded by Commissioner
Gordon to approve the Cable TV Citizen Advisory Board request to explore the
possibilities of working with the Town of Chapel Hill during their cable TV
refranchising process.
VOTE: UNANIMOUS
%.
