~~='~.. <br />. ~ j/~ <br />~ f .~1 .,.1 C_F <br />MINUTES <br />MAY 4, 1981 <br />_. <br />{ <br />.. <br />a <br />w <br />The Orange County Board of Commissioners met in regular session . <br />on Monday May 4, 1981, at 10:00 A.M. in the Commissioners' Room, Orange <br />County Courthouse, Hillsborough, North Carolina. <br />Commissioners present: Commissioner Anne Barnes, Chair, and Can- <br />Y <br />missioners Norman Gustaveson, Norman Walker, Richard Whitted and Don <br />Willhoit. <br />Agenda Item 1: Board modification of A ends <br />Commissioner Willhoit said he wished to add as number 18, discussion <br />of a petition for addition to the South Orange Fire District. Commissioner <br />Barnes added two announcements following agenda item 3; and, Commissioner <br />l9alker said he had an announcement regarding the fire districts. <br />Agenda Item 2: Audience Comments <br />A. There were no comments about matters on the agenda; <br />B. Matters not on the printed agenda; The attorney for J.P. Goforth <br />presented the Board with a contract for the Sedgefield Subdivision; the <br />Board added that as item 9-A. <br />Agenda Item 3: Minutes of A nil 13 and 16, 1981 <br />Commissioner Whi ned, seconded by Commissioner Gustaveson, moved approval <br />of the minutes of April 13 as submitted. Voter Ayes, 5; noes,0. <br />Commissioner Willhoit moved approval of the minutes of April 16 with <br />thie attachment of a me,~torandum from the Planning Department outlining the <br />present position of the County and the Town of Hillsborough with regard to <br />planning; Commissioner Gustaveson seconded the motion. Vote: Ayes, 5; noes, <br />o_ <br />The County Attorney reviewed the steps of the tax matter of Carol Woods. <br />He said the Property Tax Commission had held a hearing in Cecember of 1980 <br />and he had received the decision on May 1, 1981. The decision of the Pro- <br />perty Tax Commission regarding Carol Woods that Carol Woods' property <br />is not tax exempt because the property is not used for charita`le ourposes,• <br />The A~torney said Carol Woods could appeal to t{te N.C. Court pf Appeals. <br />
