10 <br />C. PETITION FOR RIGHT-OF-WAY ABANDONMENT - WOLF'S POND SUBDIVISION <br />Motion was made by Commissioner Willhoit, seconded by Commissioner <br />Halkiotis to adopt the resolution stated below which sets a public hearing <br />on the abandonment of a right-of-way located between Boulder Bluff (SR 2020) <br />and Wolf's Court (SR 2019) in Wolf's Pond Subdivision. <br />RESOLUTION OF THE ORANGE COUNTY <br />BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF INTENT <br />TO CLOSE A RIGHT-OF-WAY IN <br />WOLF'S POND SUBDIVISION <br />WHEREAS, petitioners Frances L. Greenstein, Robert B. Cairns, Beverly <br />D. Cairns, Anthony J. Rignola, Francine A. Rignoia, Furman E. Goggins and <br />Phyllis J. Goggins have filed a petition before the Board of County <br />Commissioners to close a right-of-way identified on the map which is part of <br />Exhibit A to this Resolution (hereinafter "the abandoned right-of-way"); and <br />WHEREAS, it appears from the petition that the road in the abandoned <br />right-of-way has never been constructed; and <br />WHEREAS, it appears that no individual, firm or corporation owns <br />property in the vicinity of said right-of-way without a reasonable means of <br />ingress and egress to his, her or its property; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners <br />of Orange County that it intends to close the abandoned right-of-way. That <br />prior to a decision on the closing of the abandoned right-of-way, a public <br />hearing shall be held in the superior courtroom of the Orange County <br />Courthouse, on the 1st day of June, 1992 at 7:30 p.m. The Clerk to the Board <br />of County Commissioners is directed to publish this Resolution in the Chapel <br />Hill Herald and the News of Orange County once a week for four (4) successive <br />weeks before said hearing and that the Clerk shall send by certified mail to <br />each owner of property adjoining the abandoned right-of-way and shall <br />prominently post a copy of this Resolution in at least two (2) places along <br />the abandoned road as required by N.C. General Statutes 153A-241. <br />VOTE: UNANIMOUS <br />D. RED WOLF AT PINEY MOUNTAIN - PRELIMINARY SUBDIVISION PLAN <br />Motion was made by Commissioner Willhoit, seconded by Commissioner <br />Halkiotis to approve the Preliminary Plan for Red Wolf at Piney Mountain with <br />a public road built to State standards and subject to the conditions <br />contained in the resolution of Approval. <br />VOTE: UNANIMOUS <br />IX. BOARD COMMENTS <br />John Link reported that an additional 30 day. extension has been <br />granted to those people who live at the Hilltop Mobile Home Park. Tara Fikes <br />will provide assistance to those who need help to relocate. <br />X. COUNTY MANAGER'S REPORT <br />John Link reported that the "In Touch with Orange County" module is <br />in full operation at University Mall in Chapel Hill. He also announced that <br />the Efland Cheeks Community Center is completed and ready for occupancy. <br />
