Rural Route 1 - Efland <br /> This presentation was made by Marvin Collins. In <br /> summary this item was presented to consider a proposed change from <br /> existing rural box numbers to a system of permanently assigned <br /> house numbers. Route 1, Efland, includes that area beginning at <br /> US 70, then southwest along Mt. Willing Road to Buckhorn, including <br /> Forrest Avenue, Gym Road, Center Street, Southern Drive, Watson <br /> Road, Gaines Chapel Road, and a portion of West Ten Road, Bushy <br /> Cook Road, Chestnut Ridge Road, Camp Chestnut Road, and the western <br /> third of Borland Road; then south from Buckhorn on Buckhorn Road <br /> down to and including Bradshaw Quarry Road from Orange Grove Road <br /> to Applemill Road and a portion of Teer Road; then extending north <br /> from US 70 along Brookhollow Road to Efland-Cedar Grove Road, up <br /> to and including a portion of Halls MillRoad, Bane Road, the <br /> Eastern end of East Lebanon Church Road, and Blacksmith Road. <br /> Including also are US 70, West from Lloyd Dairy Road to Fuller <br /> Road, and including Tinnin Road and School House Road. <br /> c. Rural Route 2 - Efland <br /> This presentation was made by Marvin Collins. Route 2, Efland, includes an area beginning at US <br /> 70, then extending north along Efland-Cedar Grove Road to and <br /> including Governor Scott Road; and then northwest from Efland- <br /> Cedar Grove Road along Harmony Church Road to Lynch Store Road, <br /> including Shanklin Dead End, and a portion of Poteat Road and <br /> Charlie' s Dead End; then all of High Rock Road extending from US <br /> 70 northwest to the Alamance county line, including Ira Road. <br /> THERE WERE NO QUESTIONS OR COMMENTS FROM THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br /> OR THE PLANNING BOARD. <br /> THE PUBLIC HEARING WAS OPEN FOR CITIZEN COMMENT <br /> Roger Eibest indicated that he lives in the Rural Route 1 area <br /> on Juniper Road. He indicated that the road is scheduled to be <br /> renamed Andy Smith Road. He requested that the name not be <br /> changed. <br /> Bill McFerrin also indicated that he would like for Juniper <br /> Road to maintain its original name. <br /> It was the consensus of the Board of Commissioners that Don <br /> Powell research the reason behind this proposed name change.
