MINUTES <br /> ORANGE COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br /> AND <br /> ORANGE COUNTY PLANNING BOARD <br /> REGULAR QUARTERLY PUBLIC HEARING <br /> DECEMBER 11 1990 <br /> The Orange County Board of Commissioners met in Joint Session <br /> with the Orange County Planning Board for the regular Quarterly <br /> Public Hearing on December 11, 1990 at 7:30 p.m. in the Superior <br /> Courtroom, new County Courthouse, Hillsborough, N.C. <br /> COUNTY COMMISSIONERS PRESENT: Chairman Moses Carey, Jr. , and <br /> Commissioners Stephen Halkiotis, Verla Insko, Alice Gordon, and Don <br /> Willhoit. <br /> PLANNING BOARD MEMBERS PRESENT: Chair Betty Eidenier and members <br /> Pegge J. Abrams, Chris Best, William J. Waddell, Jr. , Michael <br /> Lewis, Clinton Burklin, Jean Hamilton, Virginia Boland, and Carol <br /> Cantrell. <br /> PLANNING BOARD MEMBERS ABSENT: Barry Jacobs, Dan Eddleman, and <br /> Larry Reid. <br /> COUNTY ATTORNEY PRESENT: Geoff Gledhill <br /> STAFF PRESENT: County Manager John M. OPENING REMARKS: <br /> Chairman Carey made introductory remarks and announced that <br /> Item 2 (a) Weston Place Planned Development had been withdrawn from <br /> the agenda. <br /> C. PUBLIC HEARING ITEMS <br /> 1. Assignment of House and Building Numbers <br /> a. Rural Route 6 - Hillsborough <br /> This presentation was made by Marvin Collins. In <br /> summary this item was presented to consider a proposed change from <br /> existing rural box numbers to a system of permanently assigned <br /> house numbers. Route 6, Hillsborough, encompasses an area from <br /> South Churton Street southwest along Orange Grove Road to Davis <br /> Road, including New Grady Brown School Road, Crossroads Church <br /> Cemetery Road, Shamrock Road, and the western half of Ode Turner <br /> Road; then northward along Dimmocks Mill Road to Ben Johnston Road, <br />
