Mr. Steckler <br />said North Chatham would continue to provide fire protection to this <br />area of the County as long as progress was being made toward seeking a <br />solution to the problem. Vote: Ayes, 5; noes,O. <br />Agenda Item 8: The Sher.iff.will Report to the Board On the <br />Jail Ins ection Tour of February 4, 1981, by <br />NG epartment of Human Resources. <br />Sheriff Knight said most of the problems cited in the report (see page <br />S of this book) would be corrected by the construction of the new <br />facility. He replied to the specific violations cited and said some of <br />these were over- looked by the Inspector, for example, both an emergency <br />evacuation route and a master fire plan are provided. Other violations <br />he corrected, for example, safety razors and a shower curtain. <br />The Board thanked Sheriff Knight and Mr. Phillips, Public Works Dir- <br />ector, for their presence and presentation tonight. <br />Agenda Item 7: The Manager's Report. <br />Mr. Bobby Baker spoke to the Board on the first portion of the Manager's <br />Report. He said his response to the question of Civil Preparedness would <br />be a manual of resources, that is, an assistance kind of program rather than <br />specific responses. <br />Commissioner Barnes asked the County Attorney about the authority of <br />
