Vote: Ayes, 4; noes, <br />0. . <br />Agenda Item 17: The Mana er's Re ort. <br />Commissioner Gustaveson expressed concern over the necessity of prompt <br />action 6y the Board designating Mr. Bobby Baker Emergency Management <br />Coordinator and granting him the authority to act for the Board in emer- <br />gencies. Commissioner Gustaveson asked the County Attorney whether simple <br />action by the Board so designating Mr. Baker Emergency Management Goordin- <br />afar was sufficient or if a Resolution spelling out his specific authority <br />was necessary. The County Attorney replied he was unsure of the answer tv <br />that question, for example, how much of its authority the Board could trans- <br />fer and the effect of such authority over the local municipalities or <br />State Patrol. Discussion continued with some members expressing the desire <br />to approve the Managers' Report and ask the Manager to proceed with plann- <br />ing to accomplish the end result desired. ` <br />Commissioner Gustaveson moved that the Board adopt section C of the <br />f4anager 's Report designating Mr. Baker Emergency Management Coordinator <br />and asking the County Attorney "how the County can fine tune this." <br />Commissioner Whitted seconded the motion.
