The staff replied no that it look- <br />ed only at active nodes. The Board indicated interest in preserving water <br />quality along the US 7D--I-85 corridor in reference to encouraging or <br />.discouraging development along that route. Mr. Polatty said in general <br />the planning staff had followed existing/historical patterns in determining <br />these industrial nodes. <br />Commissioner Whitted said there had been a rezoning request. before the <br />Board in the early 7D's in Eno Township which had been granted and said it <br />should be on the Land Use Map,shouldn't it? Planning staff was not aware <br />of that rezoning request. - ~ <br />The Board said they would return to this goal and its effects at a " <br />later time. <br />Goal 7: <br />The Board gave planning staff no direction on this goal. <br />Goal 8: <br />Commissioner Barnes suggested the idea of requiring developers to _ <br />set aside land for low income housing in order to encourage a better mix <br />of housing.
