Assistance Orange County, North Carolina <br /> We are pleased to prepare oproposal for Orange County <br /> to assist in the preparation of o new Unified Development <br /> Ordinance. In this proposal we describe services that we <br /> are pn*pone6 to offer immediately, and also identify <br /> options for the County's consideration oo work proceeds i. <br /> subsequent phases ofUC>[) production. <br /> We understand Orange County's regulatory context very <br /> vvali. We assisted the county in preparation and adoption <br /> of the current Comprehensive Plan. We have worked on <br /> intergovernmental o0neennenb involving Orange County, <br /> Hillsborough, [orr6onn, and Chapel Hill. The project <br /> manager for Clarion's work on this initiative will be Roger <br /> VYo/clon, who served osChapel Hill's Planning Director for <br /> two decades prior to imining Clarion Associates in 2005. <br /> YVe are currently working with the Town nf Hillsborough on <br /> preparation ofits UDC}. We have been advising Chapel <br /> Hill regarding growth management strategies. <br /> And we understand what it takes to craft UDO that meets community goals. [|ohon has extensive <br /> experience in drafting of development codes for communities in North Carolina, the southeast, and <br /> across the notion: <br /> • We have written zoning regulations for cities and counties in North Carolina, the <br /> southeast, and the notion that are vvell-i||ontrohed, written in plain English, and made <br /> available through web-base d technology (including codes in Cary, NC; Mooresville, <br /> NC; Folly Beach, SC; Rock Hill, 5[; Franklin, TN; Greenville, 3C; Alachua, FL; <br /> Louisville/Jefferson County, KY; Fort Collins, CO.
