Commissioner Willhoit requested Mr. Polatty <br />contact DOT regarding requirements far traffic islands in cul-de-sacs. <br />Mr: Jerry Latta of the developer's staff spoke saying the developer plann- <br />ed to complete the development over the next ten to twelve years. Mr. <br />Philip Post also spoke for the development. The Board expressed to the <br />developer, Mel Rashkis; its intereSt.;and desire to see egress and ingress <br />from the north to that subdivision~:•="'commissioner Whitted said he felt <br />r. <br />there should be an outlet onto Qakda1`e for the convenience of those who <br />would 6e taking their children:`~o school.' <br />Corranissioner Willhoit moved to approve Phase I of the Cornwallis <br />Wills Subdivision with the recommendations of the Planning Department; <br />Commissioner Whitted seconded the motion. Memorial Hospital <br />to inform the hospital of the Ordinance and that the Board`s.intent is <br />to exclude those ambulances transporting patients to the N. C. Memorial <br />Hospital from areas outside Orange County. <br />Commissioner Whitted suggested liability insurance be in the amounts <br />i:. -,;:: <br />L <br />of $100,00p; $300,000; and $50,000; in that order in the blanks on page <br />7 of the Ordinance. <br />Commissioner Whitted moved to adopt the Ambulance Ordinance regulating <br />the operation of such services in Orange County; Commissioner Wi1lho.it <br />seconded the motion. Vote:. Ayes; 5; noes, 0. <br />The Board asked the Chair to contact the cities of Chapel Hill and <br />Carrboro informing those municipalities of this action and indicating <br />the Board's interest in those municipalities likewise adopting this Ord- <br />inance or a Resolution .permitting, its application in those Towns. <br />
