m <br />- ..r .; <br />.i. ,, <br />5) Acquistion of street easements and rights-of-way; <br />6) Elimination of conflicts between uses and development <br />patterns; '. •~ <br />°>> <br />'~.. <br />7) Institution of standard street system with storm drainage and <br />public utilities; <br />$) To~the extent feasible, preparation of plans to preserve <br />the overall environment of the CD area; <br />9) Removal of conditions which adversely impact the morals and <br />sound and orderly development of the CD area; <br />i0) Create a sound and healthy physical and social environment in <br />the CD area. <br />Mr. Griffin said he would present the Board with a preliminary <br />draft of the redevelopment plan later today; this plan would welcome <br />the Board's suggestions in accordance with the General Statutes defining <br />the Board's authority in this matter. Mr. Griffin said the Baard would <br />need to adopt the plan at some point in the future. <br />The County .Attorney said the redevelopment plan would also have <br />to be presented to Hillsborough for approval. <br />C. Rehabilitation: <br />Mr. Griffin said there would be a bid opening on February 5, <br />1981, at 3 P.M.•'for three structures. <br />Mr. Griffin introduced Mr. Stevenson of the Chapel Hill Housing <br />Authority who brought the Board up to date on his redevelopment activities <br />since 1976. Mr. Stevenson said the CHHA had solved the problem of how <br />to entice investor-owners to participate in the plan by applying for <br />grants for those homes with the proviso that the homes would be rented <br />to low income families/individuals for fifteen years. His staff inspects <br />the properties at one year intervals following rehabilitation. <br />Agenda Item 7: The Architect's Anal sis of and <br />Recommendation Goncerntng J_at ids-. <br />Mr. Nassif told the Board the kitchen equipment for the 3ai1 ` <br />had been rebid as directed and only two bids were received again. Those <br />bids are: <br />Food Equipment Contract Company $31,200.00 <br />Gardner-Benoit $23,200.10 <br />
