<br />~ / ~. <br />ORANGE COUNTY BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br />A RESOLUTION ENDORSING PROPOSED ROAD IMPROVEMENTS TO ENHANCE <br />SAFETY AND MORE EFFICIENT TRAFFIC FLOW <br />WHEREAS, North Carolina General Statutes Chapter §136-11.1 provides that <br />the North Carolina Department of Transportation inform all municipalities and counties <br />affected by a planned transportation project, and request each affected municipality or <br />county to submit within 45 days a written resolution expressing their views on the <br />project; and <br />WHEREAS, North Carolina Department of Transportation Division 7 Engineer <br />has provided Orange County with notice of two proposed projects to enhance safety <br />and provide more efficient traffic flow in the affected areas of the County; and <br />WHEREAS, Orange County supports improvements to the transportation <br />network that enhance the safety for all modes of travel; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Orange County Board of <br />Commissioners that Orange County endorses the following transportation projects. <br />proposed by the North Carolina Department of Transportation: <br />1. Improve sight distance on SR 1710 (Old NC 10) at SR 1713 (Mt. Herman <br />Church Road) by lowering the crest vertical on the westbound approach to the <br />intersection; and <br />2. Construct a right turn lane on SR 1710 (Old NC 10) at NC 86 and install a <br />traffic signal. <br />Upon motion of Commissioner ,seconded by Commissioner C,Q~% <br />the foregoing resolution w~ adopted this the 24th day of June 2008. <br />I, Donna Baker, Clerk to the Board of Commissioners for the County of Orange, North <br />Carolina, DO HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing is a true copy of so much of the <br />proceedings of said Board at a meeting held on June 24, 2008, as relates in any way to <br />the adoption of the foregoing and that said proceedings are recorded in the minutes of <br />said Board. <br />WITNESS my hand and the seal of said County, thi~~day <br />rd of Commissioners <br />
