Establish a Public Hearing Date and Submit the 2009 Schedule of Values <br />The Board established a public hearing on the Schedule of Values for the 2009 real property <br />revaluation for August 19, 2008 at 7:30 p.m. in the F. Gordon Battle Courtroom in Hillsborough. <br />g_ 'Proposed Financing for Animal Shelter and Solid Waste Ea.uiament <br />The Board adopted a resolution required by the Local Government Commission (LGC) for <br />approval of the acquisition of financing needed for construction of the Animal Services Facilities <br />and to reimburse the County for Solid Waste equipment that has been recently purchased. <br />h. Actuarial Report for Other Post Employment Benefits <br />The Board approved participating in the North Carolina Association of County Commissioners <br />contract with Cavanaugh McDonald for preparation of the actuarial report for the County's Other <br />Post Employment Benefits liability for the benefit year ended December 31, 2007, and <br />execution of the participation agreement by the County Manager. <br />i. Amendment to Article IV, Section 7.2.4 of the Orange County Personnel Ordinance <br />Eliminating the Dependent Health Care Subsidy for Retiring Employees Hired <br />After July 1, 2008 <br />The Board adopted an amendment to Article IV, Section 7.2.4 of the Orange County Personnel <br />Ordinance to add the language eliminating the County dependent health care subsidy for <br />retirees hired after July 1, 2008. <br />L Minutes Preparer Adreement <br />The Board approved an agreement between Orange County and Becky Butler for the <br />transcription of minutes and authorized the Chair to sign. <br />k. RFP Award - Smartcard and Camera Security System for County Buildings <br />The Board awarded a Request for Proposal for a smartcard and camera security system for <br />County buildings to Pronet Systems, Inc. of Raleigh, NC; authorized the purchase of the system <br />for the Justice Facility as outlined above; and authorized the Chair to sign, subject to final <br />review by staff and the County Attorney. ~ . <br />I. RFP Award and Contract Approval -Electronic Document Management Svstem <br />for Social Services <br />The Board awarded a Request for Proposals and approved a contract for an Electronic <br />Document Management System for the Orange County Department of Social Services to <br />Northwoods Consulting Partners, Inc. of Dublin, Ohio and authorized the Chair to sign, subject <br />to final review by staff and the County Attorney. <br />m. Bid Award: Transportable Bleachers <br />This item was removed and placed at the end of the consent agenda for separate <br />consideration. <br />n. Authorization to Award Bid: Construction of Leachate Sewer Line from MSW <br />Landfill on Eubanks Rd. to Existing Sewer Line on Mill House Rd. <br />This item was removed and placed at the end of the consent agenda for separate <br />consideration. <br />o. Authorization to Purchase Office Furniture and Telephone Svstem for New 911 <br />Center through NC State Contract <br />The Board authorized the Purchasing Director to effect furniture purchases and the purchase of <br />anew telephone system, through State Contract vendors, for the new Emergency Services <br />offices located at the Meadowlands. <br />~ Authorization for the Manager to Award Contracts to Expedite Repairs on the Cate <br />Buildings at the Future Twin Creeks (Moniese Nomp) District Park <br />The Board authorized the Manager to approve contracts for emergency stabilization repairs on <br />the Cate buildings at the future Twin Creeks (Moniese Nomp) Park to expedite this work during <br />
