~ ~ <br />Please return this copy to _ <br />Clerk to the Board's office for PAF <br />Recyclable Material (RM) Permit Fees ~- ~~ r O~ <br />Memorandum of Understanding Between the Town of Chapel Hill and Orange County ~~ <br />Summary <br />The Orange County Regulated Recyclable Material Ordinance (RRMO) requires that Recyclable <br />Material (RM) Permits be issued for construction and demolition projects. The ordinance is <br />effective within the Town of Chapel Hill pursuant to a resolution adopted by the Chapel Hill <br />Town Council (2005-9-26/R-5) and is enforced by the Orange County Solid Waste Management <br />staff. This memorandum of understanding outlines what is expected of each party in issuing RM <br />permits. <br />Fee Amount <br />The Town of Chapel Hill will assess the Orange County RM permit fee in an amount equal to <br />8% of the all building permit fees listed below and remit to Orange County Solid Waste. The <br />RM permit fee will be based only on the building permit fees adopted and from time to time <br />amended and published by the Town of Chapel Hill. <br />Remittance Schedule <br />The Town of Chapel Hill shall remit Orange County's accumulated portion of RM permit <br />fees, less the Town of Chapel Hill's administration fee which is 3%, on a quarterly basis. <br />The remittance should be in the form of a check made out to Orange County. The check <br />may be mailed to PO Box 17177 Chapel Hill, NC 27516 or placed in the Orange County <br />Solid Waste mailbox in Chapel Hill Town Hall. <br />• The remittance should also include a report detailing the time period to which the check <br />applies. <br />o Details that must be included are: a) the number of permits issued, b) the dates <br />covered by the report, c)'the total amount of building fees upon which the RM permit. <br />fees are based. <br />o Details that Orange County suggests be included are: a) permit holders name, b) <br />address related to permit, c) date of permit issuance, d) permit number (if applicable). <br />
