6.3$ <br /> Agenda Item 8: Report of Bids for Boiler <br /> The purchasing agent reported the County received only one response <br /> to its call for bids for one coal fired boiler, that of Comfort Engineers, <br /> for $26,654. <br /> Agenda Item 9: Award of Bid for a Coal Fired Boiler. _ <br /> Commissioner Walker moved the County accept the bid of Comfort <br /> Engineers as reported in Agenda Item 8. Commissioner Gustaveson seconded <br /> the motion. Vote: bayes, 5; noes, 0. <br /> Agenda Item 11 : Status Report, County Energy Conservation <br /> Program. <br /> Ms. Carol Fitzgerald, the County's Energy Conservation Coordinator, <br /> reported on the status of the three year old Energy Program. She noted <br /> that an active Energy Commission has developed the recently adopted Orange <br /> County Energy Program, has effected Land Use Planning policies in the <br /> Town of Chapel Hill and Orange County, and is reviewing work by all locali- <br /> ties in Land Use Planning, several .reports on a Public Outreach Energy <br /> Program, a report on the potential for renewable energy sources in Orange <br /> County, and a report on the energy conservation potential in Orange County <br /> until the year 2,000. The Commission also maintains representation on <br /> the Energy Emergency Committee which has been operating since the Iranian <br /> Revolution in May of 1979.. <br /> Ms. Fitzgerald noted that the Orange County Energy Program is <br /> recognized nationally as outstanding, and is extremely comprehensive. <br /> She expressed her appreciation for the Board's foresight in establishing <br /> the program: and suggested the program's budget be revised to reflect the <br /> extensive responsibilities and activities of the Energy Office. <br /> Agenda Item 12: Transfer of Land Title' <br /> The County attorney advised the Board Donald Donnell White had <br /> requested the County sell to him property he formerly owned and which <br /> the County had acquired through tax foreclosure. The attorney stated <br /> special statutes allowed conveyance of property from a taxing unit back <br /> to a former owner, and that the Board could if it desired convey this <br /> property to Mr. White at any reasonable cost, Mr, White has offered <br /> $1,300 for tnls property, a sum 0 wuuid 4OACJ <br /> costs incurred by the County in acquiring this property. Commissioner <br /> Gustaveson moved the Board accept the offer of Mr. White. Commissioner <br /> Barnes seconded the.motion. Vote: ayes, 5; noes, 0. <br />
