The resolution was received with very positive
feedback and a framed copy of the resolution will be displayed at the Animal Services office on Franklin
Street.
Ms Oglesbee also announced that she attended the reception for Committee Chairs on Advisory Boards.
There was a discussion of Commissioners involvement in various advisory boards. There was also a
discussion about the FY08109 budget and what kinds of requests are being made to staff programs and to
have resources available for them. Ms Oglesbee would like to be informed as a board what kinds of
request are being made for staff in this year's budget in order to meet the objectives and various
programs that the board has set.
It was mentioned that after this year Commissioner Moses Carey will no longer be the ASAB liaison due
to his retirement from the BOCC. There was discussion from the board members about the process for his
replacement and whether or not recommendations by the ASAB can be made. Mr. Marotta will look in to
how the process for new BOCC appointments are handled and report back to the ASAB in March.
Ms Oglesbee suggested that the board think about having an annual Animal Services Day to focus on the
programs and invite the BOCC and public to attend. This would be a great way to promote the
spay /neuter programs and to conduct educational outreach to the community.
Approved ASAB Minutes
February 200*, 2008
