6 <br />FINANCIAL IMPACT: Funds for Small Area Plan implementation were included in the FY09-10 <br />Budget. .Following is a breakdown of expenditures related to the required notifications on this <br />project: <br />• Legal Ad: approximately $1875 <br />• Signs: $917 <br />• Postage for Mailed Notifications: $737 <br />s Printing of Notification Postcards: $116 (professionally printed and cut down to size <br />using cardstock Planning Department had on hand) <br />• Notification letters (paper, printing, labels, envelopes): used supplies Planning <br />Department had on hand <br />• Total staff time used for all aspects of notification process: approximately 65 hours <br />Staff time to research, write, coordinate, and map the amendments was significant and was <br />accomplished using existing Planning staff included in the Departmental staffing budget. <br />RECOMMENDATION: The Zoning Officer recommends the Board: <br />1. Receive the proposal to amend the Zoning Ordinance Text and Atlas and Chapter 5 of <br />the 2030 Comprehensive Plan Land Use Element Text and Map. <br />2. Conduct the Public Hearing and accept public, BOCC, and Planning Board comment on <br />the proposed amendments. <br />3. Refer the matter to the Planning Board with a request that a recommendation be returned <br />to the County Board of Commissioners in time for the June 1, 2010 BOCC regular <br />meeting. <br />4. Adjourn the public hearing until June 1, 2010 in order to receive and accept the Planning <br />Board's recommendation and any submitted written comments. . <br />
