Inter-local Agreement Committee for the Hillsborough Area-Orange <br />Count Strategic Growth Plan Phase II <br />Sunset this Advisory Group and if necessary allow the County' Planning Board to <br />facilitate as sub-committee to work with the Town of Hillsborough as needed. <br />18. Commission for the Environment <br />Consider expanding the role of this Advisory Board in areas of related impactor <br />associated concern as the need or issues arise. <br />The Air Quality Advisory Committee is (noted next) is an example of an issue that <br />could be asub-committee of the Commission for the Environment that focused <br />on a set of issues in detail. <br />The staff for the Commission for the Environment has been involved in pursuit of <br />land banking and park site locations. Reorganization proposals for the 2010-11 <br />budget will focus upon establishing a direct relationship between Parks and <br />Recreation functions and the Environment and Resources Conservation <br />Department. <br />It may be appropriate to study the role of the Commission for the Environment, <br />considering a more inclusive title change for this Advisory Board. <br />19. Air Quality Advisory Committee <br />Sunset this group as now structured. Assign the task to the Commission for the <br />Environment. <br />20. Healthy Carolinians <br />Sunset this group as now structured. Assign the task to the Board of Health. <br />21. Historic Preservation Commission <br />Evaluate delegating the work of this Advisory Board to a county-wide non-profit <br />entity and/or working with other groups that may exist to create a formal effort <br />`outside' of a county governmental function. <br />As an independent, non-governmental agency there may be opportunities for the <br />use of grant funds to pursue historic preservation and education efforts. <br />22. Affordable Housing Advisory Board; HOME Program Review <br />Committee; Housing Bond Program/Project Review and Selection <br />Committee; Orange County Housing Authority; and Community Home Trust <br />These five separate Citizen Advisory Boards deal with similar related issues. <br />Study and consideration could be given to (1) merging, or reassigning related <br />7 <br />
