28 <br />'~~ ~~ __~_ a~J~~ ~ ~ ~ ~1C~~ [~~~C~~.~ [~ ~~~JI~D <br />'u~- Semler Altus Muneris -Volunteers Since ! 971 <br />~~ <br />SORS currently loans its ambulances and equipment to the County during times when County <br />vehicles are out-of-service or otherwise "off-line". <br />SORS currently provides Technical Rescue services for county-wide response whenever <br />requested through OCES 911. <br />SORS currently provides Technical Rescue Services by contract to the University of North <br />Carolina Department of Energy Services. <br />SORS cuurently provides Technical Rescue Services by contract with the Orange Water and <br />Sewer Authority. <br />SORS currently provides Special Event EMS and Ambulance Service by contract to The <br />University of North Carolina Deparhnent of Athletics [UNC home football games, basketball <br />games, track events, NCAA Championship events and NCHSAA High School Football and <br />Basketball Championship events]. <br />SORS currently provides Special Event EMS and Ambulance Service to the Town of Chapel Hill <br />[Annual Halloween coverage, Street Fairs, Festivals, spontaneous UNC Basketball sts~eet <br />celebrations, road races, bike races and triathlons]. <br />SORS currently provides Special Event EMS and Ambulance Services for coverage of Chapel <br />Hill /Carrboro City School System High School Football games. <br />SORS currently provides CPR and AED training and certification to citizens and groups in <br />Orange County at no charge. <br />As an all-volunteer, SO1-{C)-3 Non-Profit organization, SORS awns it's own fleet of Ambulance <br />and Rescue vehicles. We train all of our volunteers to the applicable local, state, or national <br />standard [or higher]. We maintain our awn insurance for our volunteers. <br />South Orange Rescue Squad has been meeting and working closely with the Director of OCES, <br />Col. Frank Montes de Oca, to examine ways that the volunteers and resources of the South <br />Orange Rescue Squad can be positioned and utilized within the larger goal of EMS and Rescue <br />service to all of the citizen's of Orange County. <br />Due to its ail-vohinteer nature, SORS already provides a tremendous benefit to the citizens of <br />Orange County, since it does not receive any tax-supported revenue., <br />SORS is extremely interested in providing cooperative and integrated EMS and Rescue Services <br />along side OCES, while still retaining it's integrity and identity as a locally based, all-volunteer <br />organization. <br />PO Box (28, Carrboro, P1C 27510-0128 ~ 919.967.1515 ~ www.soresecue.org <br />
